About Us
COTSO was founded in 2003 to meet the urgent financial needs of the families of security officers who were killed in the line of duty. Financial assistance is provided to families to help with funeral expenses as well as other everyday needs that are not currently being met by any other organization in the immediate aftermath of their loss.
On average, there is 6 line of duty deaths each year and we are fully committed to supporting the families of these officers financially and emotionally. We not only take care of funeral expenses but also provide for families of fallen security officers on a daily basis, absorbing the cost of their bills until Worker’s Compensation and/or SSI benefits are in place.
The organization is committed to respecting our fallen security officers and their families by providing the means for a funeral with full honors. Fallen security officers gave the community they serve a huge sacrifice so providing a communal gathering in which their families, co-workers, and other security officers can share the loss is our ultimate goal.
COTSO is staffed entirely by volunteers like you!
We would like for you to partner with us to help officers and their families.
